Violent armed robbery sends worker to hospital

"Where is the money? Where is the money?" demanded armed robbers who allegedly duct taped and beat a store worker in Cleveland.

According to Sgt. Sammy Morris with the Cleveland Division of Police, the victim said three men entered Glenville Market on E. 105th Street around 3:10 p.m. Friday.

The men bound the victim's hands, took him to the rear of the store and struck him with a handgun several times, Morris said.

Shots were allegedly fired in the victim's direction, but he was not hit. The gunmen took money and other items and then left the area.

The victim was taken to Huron Road Hospital to be treated for lacerations to his face and hands.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Fifth District Detective Bureau at (216) 623-5518.
