Sacramento fast food robber strikes again

SACRAMENTO, CA - A masked gunman robbed five fast food restaurants across Sacramento county Sunday, according to Sacramento police.

If all five turn out to be the work of the same person, that would mean a total of 10 fast food stickups since the robberies began Feb. 26.

The latest incidents happened Sunday night. The Del Taco on Watt Avenue was robbed around 9:15 p.m. Less than an hour later, a McDonald's on Folsom Boulevard and Watt was held up.

Those two robberies took place about 14 hours after a morning spree that saw three restaurants robbed.

Police said a robber struck the Jack in the Box at 4435 Florin Road shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday.

By 7:15 a.m., the Burger King at 5610 Freeport Boulevard was targeted. During the next hour, there was a robbery at the Del Taco at 30th and K streets. Police said they believe all three morning robberies were committed by the same man.

Sacramento Police Department spokeswoman Officer Laura Peck said Sunday morning's robberies were similar to last week's holdups, including the robber's description and methods.

Witnesses described the robber as a stocky, dark-skinned African-American man. Peck said he is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall with dreadlocks. In each crime, the robber wore a ski mask.

Peck said the man robbed the same Freeport Boulevard Burger King on March 1. He was believed to have also hit the Jack in the Box on Florin Road twice.

Anyone with information on the string of robberies was asked to call police and not approach the robber. He is considered armed and dangerous.
