Police hunt for armed robber

THE victim of an armed hold-up at Kirra Sports Club this morning is shaken up but otherwise unharmed.

The victim, a manager at the footy club, was threatened by a man armed with a handgun as he arrived at the Appel Street clubhouse shortly before 6am this morning to open up for the day's trade.

The victim was allegedly forced inside the premises and told to open up a safe before being bound by the assailant, who later fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are searching the area for the offender who is described as between 175 to 180cm tall and of solid build.

He was wearing a black balaclava, black jacket with a grey hood, black track suit pants with a thin white stripe on the side, white and blue gloves and white runners.
