Man robs Pizza Hut, escapes with undisclosed sum

ANDERSON, Ind. — Police are seeking leads on an armed robbery at the Pizza Hut at 1911 E. 53rd St. Tuesday night.

Store employees said a man arrived about 11 p.m. brandishing a handgun, and demanded cash from the register, said police spokesman Detective Joel Sandefur. An undisclosed amount was turned over.

The robber was described as a 6-foot-2-inch white male weighing approximately 200 pounds, wearing a zippered black hooded sweatshirt and black plants, Sandefur said.

He added that an employee saw the man get into a red four-door mid-size car and drive toward 53rd Street, but did not know which direction the car turned.

Sandefur asked anyone who might have information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 649-8310.
